Explanation of Recent Outages

As you may be aware, we had some technical issues with the Rush for 2000 Challenge game over the final weeks of the contest, which created some periods where entries could not be submitted. We apologize for these issues and any inconvenience they may have caused.

We do want to assure you we have gone over all scenarios, and we have confirmed the issues we encountered did not have any effect on the overall grand prize winners.

We will be awarding the week 17 prize to the participant who selected the winning running back for the week. Additionally, we're going to conduct a random drawing from all game registrants, through which we'll give 10 participants a hat from the pro football team of their choice. We will follow up directly with those participants who are selected in the drawing, so we can award the prizes.

Thank you for your participation in the game, and we hope you had a great season!

The Johnsonville Team

1. How long were the outages?

The first outage occurred in Week 16 and lasted from 12/21 to 12/22. The second outage occurred in Week 17 at midnight on New Year's Eve (yes, it did have something to do with the new calendar year) and was not corrected before Sunday's games.

2. What was the impact of the two outages?

The first outage, because it happened in the beginning of the round, had minimal impact on Week 16. We sent out multiple reminders that week on 12/23 and 12/24 to people who had not yet made their selections, informing them that there was still plenty of time to make those selections.

The second outage did cut people off from making their selection on the Saturday and Sunday before the games started.

3. How do you know that the outage did not affect the Grand Prize winner?

Luckily, the Grand Prize winner did make their pick before the outage occurred in Week 17. We then looked at all other players who were in contention to overtake the top player and found that either they:

a) made their pick in time, but did not overtake the winner or

b) did not make their pick, but even if they had picked the best possible available running back in Week 17, they still would not have moved into first place.

4. How are you accounting for people who might have won the weekly prize for Week 17?

First, we are awarding the round prize to the player who finished first among all selections that were made before the outage.

In order to make it up to the others who may have made a winning selection during the outage, we are conducting a random drawing among all participants and will be giving away 10 prizes to those Rush for 2000 registrants selected in the drawing. This prize consists of a team hat from the winner's favorite pro football team.
